PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a raw material heating device with high heat-treating capacity. SOLUTION: According to this raw material heating device, a raw material supply pipe 12A and an exhaust pipe 12B are provided in a peripheral section of a furnace cover 11; the furnace cover 11, a peripheral wall 13 and a rotatable hearth 14 define a heating space F; a heating gas supply pipe 15 that supplies heating gas for heating the raw material M supplied from the raw material supply pipe 12A and accumulated on the hearth 14 to the heating space F is provided; a pusher 16 for pushing out the raw material M on the hearth 14 toward a drop hole 14A formed at the center of the hearth 14 is supported by the peripheral wall 13 to be reciprocable in the radial direction of the hearth; and the accumulated raw material M on the hearth 14 is consecutively dropped by the reciprocating motion of the pusher 16 from the side of a repose angle accumulative layer face M1 through the drop hole.
