PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball screw device capable of securing a stable operation even if it is operated in ultra-high speed rotation. SOLUTION: The ball screw device is equipped with a screw shaft 12 having thread grooves 11 at its peripheral surface, a nut 14 furnished at the inside surface with thread grooves 13 mating with the thread grooves 11 and a ball return passage 16 penetrating in the axial direction and with notches 17 at the two ends to be engaged on the screw shaft 12, a circulating piece 30 having a ball circulating groove 20 to constitute together with the notches 17 a ball circulation passage 21 to put the area between the two sorts of thread grooves 11 and 13 in communication with the ball return passage 16 and fitted fast in the notches 17, and a number of balls 15 arranged between the two sorts of grooves 11 and 13 in such a way as capable of circulating while they roll in the ball circulation passage 21 and the ball return passage 16, wherein the surface of the ball circulating groove 20 of the circulating piece 30 is formed from a material 31 having a higher strength than the material of the circulating piece 30.
