A nail varnish composition comprising, in a cosmetically acceptable medium, fibers covered with at least one fluorescent whitening agent. A cosmetic process for making up and/or for the non-therapeutic care of nails comprising applying to the nails the nail varnish composition. Also disclosed is a method for conferring on a coating obtained after application of the nail varnish composition to the nails at least one property chosen from providing a homogeneous and even appearance, concealing nail imperfections, providing good hold and mechanical strength, and providing a nail-strengthening effect.
