The invention concerns a device for wavelength-dependent treatment of optical signals, particularly a wavelength multiplexer-demultiplexer or a wavelength-dependent filter, the device comprising one or more input waveguides (10) and two or more output waveguides (20), whereby, by a proper choice of geometry and material properties, the device adiabatically guides a first (system) mode of a first order l everywhere, within a first selected wavelength range, going from input to output. The invention further comprises an assembly of two or more devices according to the invention. Furthermore, the invention comprises methods for wavelength-dependent treatment of optical signals by means of a device or assembly according to the invention.
