<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily produce a composite soft magnetic material which has high performance. <P>SOLUTION: In the figure (a), a prescribed amount of powdery mixture 13 obtained by mixing a plurality of planar powders 11 having high electric resistance and a plurality of spherical soft magnetic metal powders 12 is packed into a press space formed by a bottom mold 14 and a die 15. In the (c), a punch 17 is lowered, and the powdery mixture 13 is compacted. The (d) is an enlarged figure of a compact 18 obtained by the (c), and exhibits the facts that the planar powders 11 are arranged in a direction orthogonal to the pressurizing direction, and the soft magnetic metal powders 12 flattened from a spherical shape into an elliptic are arranged after the planar powders 11. Since the planar powders 11 having high electric resistance securely lie between the metal powders 12, 12 in the upper and lower directions shown by the arrow (1), the electric resistance in the upper and lower directions increases.
