<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily improve airtightness betweem compartments provided in a side airbag. <P>SOLUTION: The inside of the airbag 14 is partitioned with a partition wall 60 to form a lumber protecting part 61 and a chest protecting part 62. An inside pinching part 35 is arranged on a retainer 25 arranged inside the airbag 14 to face a gas supplying part 22 of an inflator 12. The end 64 of the partition wall 60 of the airbag 14 is held between a separator 27 arranged outside the airbag 14 and the inside pinching part 35. The airtightness of the partition wall 60 can be easily improved and pressure in each compartment 61, 62 can be set to a desired value. The inner peripheral surface of the inside pinching part 35 serves as an inclined gas guiding part 37 to distribute gas to the lumber protecting part 61 and the chest protecting part 62. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
