PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus which has optimized spatial resolution for a concern area in an ultrasonic diagnostic image. SOLUTION: The mechanical radial scanning ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus 1 comprises a transmission-reception separating ultrasonic transducer (hereafter, called SATRUT) 11, a driving signal source (pulser) 12, a parallel resonance circuit 13, a receiver circuit 14, an analog/digital conversion circuit (hereafter, called A/D conversion circuit) 15, a scan converter 16, an image processing section 17, and a digital/analog conversion circuit (hereafter, called D/A conversion circuit) 18. The apparatus collects a concern area for an image data from the scan converter 16, quantifies the spatial resolution for the concern areas, introduces to a D/A converter 18 the quantified value of the spatial resolution for the concern area, wherein the quantified value of the spatial resolution for the concern areas is converted into an analog signal through the D/A converter 18, and impressed in the input terminal of a variable capacitance device in the parallel resonance circuit 13 as described later.
