PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide toner which is efficiently produced by dispersing all additives including a coloring agent more effectively, more sufficiently, and more uniformly without damaging the characteristics of the resin. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the toner includes: a first kneading process to melt and knead a source material mixture containing at least a binder resin and a coloring agent by using a continuous double-roll kneading machine; and a second kneading process to dilute and mix the kneaded material obtained in the first kneading process with at least a binder resin of the same kind or a different kind and further to melt and knead the diluted mixture by using an extruder. The roll temperature of the first kneading machine (the set temperature T<SB>R</SB>of the medium in the roll) satisfies the condition of 157×C<SB>CB</SB>+Tm-k≤T<SB>R</SB>≤177×C<SB>CB</SB>+Tm-k: wherein T<SB>R</SB>is the set temperature [°C] of the medium at the entrance of the open roll; C<SB>CB</SB>is the concentration of the coloring agent [wt%] in the resin; Tm is the softening temperature [°C] of the resin; and k is 29 (a constant determined by the apparatus).
