PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an LCD having a driving circuit which is decreased in the number of I/O pins on an FPC and the number of signal lines on an LCD panel. SOLUTION: The LCD which has a driving circuit and a plurality of pixel units and makes display based upon a received digital signal input, uses as a source driver of the driving circuit a source driver comprising a pulse generator 222 which generates a sample pulse, a sampler 202-n which samples the input digital signal in response to the sample pulse, a comparator 204-n which makes a comparison with a reference voltage to output a comparison result and receives a sampled digital signal, a latch 206-n which holds the comparison result, and a D/A converter 210-n which generates an analog signal based upon the received digital signal and supplies the analog signal to a corresponding pixel.
