PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite type actuator in which reductions in size and weight can be realized without problem in a sanitary field, cleaning is simple, which is of a full sealing integral type and which can be applied to a food processing field. SOLUTION: The composite type actuator includes a drive shaft 1 disposed in a cylindrical casing 2, a bearing unit for reciprocatingly and rotatably supporting the drive shaft in an axial direction, a motor 10 having a hollow part and imparting a rotating drive to the same drive shaft via the drive shaft 1, and an air cylinder having a piston 14 interlockingly to the same drive shaft at the drive shaft 1 to reciprocate the same piston and to reciprocate the drive shaft 1. Preferably, the bearing unit includes a ball spline bearing 5, the nut of the ball spline bearing is rotatably supported by a rolling bearing 7, and is rotated together with the drive shaft 1.
