PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base material for a pressure-sensitive adhesive tape excellent in uniform expansibility, having proper tensile strength, flexibility and transparency and causing no ply separation at a lamination interface, and to provide a pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet. SOLUTION: The base material for the pressure-sensitive adhesive tape comprises a multilayered laminate constituted by laminating a layer (I) comprising linear low density polyethylene and a layer (II) comprising a resin composition which composed of 10-60 wt.% of a hydrogenated copolymer comprising a polymer block (A) based on at least one vinyl aromatic compound and a polymer block (B) based on at least one hydrogenated conjugated diene compound and 90-40 wt.% of a linear low density polyethylene resin.
