<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display unit which realizes selective light condensing properties to be viewable and which alleviates performance deterioration due to dust to facilitate maintenance, and also to provide a lens. <P>SOLUTION: The display unit includes a display part having a plurality of light emitting elements disposed in a substantially planar state, and the lens, provided at the position opposed to the display part, to deflect and converge the lights of the respective light emitting elements for constituting the display part so as to emit the lights to the exterior. The surface of the lens opposed to the light emitting elements is formed in any of a fresnel lens shape, a cylindrical lens shape, or a prism lens shape, each having a plurality of protruding parts extended in a horizontal direction and substantially parallel to each other. The externally exposed surface is formed in the substantially flat shape. Thus, a light condensing function having wide directivity in the horizontal direction and narrow directivity in the vertical direction is realized, and the protection of the lens without exposing the lens to the exterior is realized. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
