<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the increase of the circuit scale, the weight and the power consumption of a mobile communication terminal by conducting a different frequency measurement without depending on the control of a base station, which is used in a W-CDMA mobile communication system for transmitting/receiving radio signals of a plurality of frequencies and has a different frequency measuring function for measuring the quality of radio signals of different frequencies from a frequency under communication. <P>SOLUTION: The mobile communication terminal comprises a quality measuring unit 1-4 for measuring the quality of radio signals incoming from a base station 1-10 communicating therewith, a different frequency measuring unit 1-8 for measuring the quality of radio signals incoming from a base station 1-11 communicating therewith on a different frequency, an execution deciding unit 1-5 for deciding the execution of the quality measurement of the different frequency radio signals incoming from the base station 1-11 when it detects that the quality of the radio signals incoming from the base station 1-10 deteriorates below a specified threshold, and a means for detecting the contents of a bearer service under communication to determine the execution time of the different frequency radio signal measurement according to the detected contents. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
