PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image transmission apparatus such as a facsimile machine for allowing an apparatus at a transmission destination to form an image with an impression that is unchanged from an impression of an original image shown on an original of a sender. SOLUTION: In the image transmission apparatus 1, a first size of image data to be transmitted as image data shown on the original is discriminated (step S14), a second size being a size of an image to be formed by an apparatus at a transmission destination of image data on the basis of the read image is discriminated (step S19), and the first size and the second size is compared (step S20). When discriminating the comparison that the second size is greater than the first size (step S20: YES), image data is generated for using the image of the first size to be transmitted to form an image with the second size put in the size equal to the first size (step S22), and the generated image data is transmitted to the apparatus at the transmission destination (step S24).
