PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power generating device and a power generating method capable of performing stable operation by stably pressurizing and feeding the condensed liquid of a working medium condensed by a condenser to a vapor generator by effectively utilizing low temperature exhaust heat energy. SOLUTION: This power generating device comprises the vapor generator generating the high-pressure vapor of the working medium by recovering exhaust heat, an expansion machine driving a generator by expanding the high-pressure vapor, the condenser cooling the vapor via the expansion machine with a cooling medium, and a pump feeding the condensed liquid of the working medium condensed by the condenser to the vapor generator.
