PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet material supply device capable of preventing obstruction of moving of a sheet material by a feeding roller even if the feeding roller rotates reversely due to any reason. SOLUTION: This sheet material supply device feeds the sheet material by rotating the feeding roller in contact with a surface of the sheet material by rotation driving force of a motor by downward operation of an arm 17. This device is provided with a control means for controlling the motor, a first transmission means for transmitting rotation of the motor to the feeding roller, a second transmission means for transmitting rotation of the motor to the arm by converting the rotation into force for operating the arm downward, and an idle operation means for preventing rotary force generated when the feeding roller is rotated reversely from being transmitted to the arm. The control means lets the idle operation means function every time when feeding of the sheet material ends if the number of sheet material to be fed is one and after feeding of all the sheet materials ends if the number of sheet materials is two or more.
