PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrifying member which provides stable, satisfactory, and uniform electrification characteristics and output image quality. SOLUTION: The electrifying member electrifies a photoreceptor drum in such a manner that the electrifying member with voltage applied thereto is brought into contact with a body (photoreceptor drum) to be electrified. In the electrifying member, allophanate bonding is introduced in its surface. The surface of a seamless tube is immersed in a 80°C solution of diphenylmethane diisocyanate (produced by Kishida Chemical Co.) for one minute to allow reaction. Thereafter, extra unreacted diphenylmethane diisocyanate sticking to the surface of the seamless tube is washed and removed with a solvent of toluene (produced by Kishida Chemical Co.).
