PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated optical fiber capable of stably maintaining a fatigue characteristic and a transmission characteristic for a long term in the environment at high temperature and high humidity, and in warm water. SOLUTION: The coated optical fiber 10 is provided with a coating layer 12 formed of an ultraviolet hardening resin on the periphery of an optical fiber 11, and the coating layer 12 is formed of the two layers of a primary coating layer 13 and a secondary coating layer 14, and also the primary coating layer 13 is constituted so as to be formed of the ultraviolet hardening resin of which the adhesion force to the optical fiber 11 is not less than 20 g/cm width.
