PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus whose start timing for each operation is set to be optimum by classifying timing for starting copying operation or printer operation from a stand-by state in accordance with fixing temperature. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is constituted of a laser write-in part 1 to write in a latent image to a photoreceptor with laser beams, the photoreceptor 2 to form the latent image by performing exposure with an electric charge electrified on a surface by the laser write-in part 1, an electrifying charger 3 to uniformly electrify the photoreceptor 2, a developing unit 4 to form a toner image at the latent image of the photoreceptor, a transfer drum 5 to transfer the toner image to recording paper, a transfer charger 6 to generate the electric charge for attracting the toner image to the side of the recording paper, a fixing device 7 to fix the toner image transferred on the recording paper, an information processing part 8 to control recording information from the outside, a paper feeding device 9 to store the recording paper and to feed the paper one by one, a paper ejection tray 10 for ejecting the recording paper where fixing is performed and a communication port 11 to manage interface with the outside. Thus, in the case of detecting that the temperature of a fixing/heating member has reached anyone of each temperature area by a fixing/heating temperature detecting means, operation is surely started by foreseeing time required for reaching the fixing temperature so as to start the output of a temperature area detected, so that the occurrence of the problem of unfixing in printing or the like is prevented.
