PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an analytical method and an analyzer for air pollutants, of determining, more rapidly than before, the quantity of infinitesimal air pollutants, benzene in particular, existing in the air, and effective in keeping down the emission of the air pollutants. SOLUTION: This analytical method is for analyzing air pollutants existing in gas by atmospheric pressure ionization mass spectrometry. In detail, a gaseous specimen is continuously collected at all times, the gaseous specimen is intermittently mixed in a carrier gas in a timed manner to analysis, and analysis interfering substances included in the mixed gas are removed by an adsorbent to analyze the mixed gas by an atmospheric pressure ionization mass spectrometer.
