PURPOSE: Provided are a method for preparing an asymmetric separation membrane and an asymmetric separation membrane prepared by the method which has a higher permeation amount compared with a separation membrane having an equal pore size, and is excellent in membrane pollution resistance and the stability to chlorine. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of coating a polymer solution selected from the group consisting of polysulfone, polyethersulfone, polyvinylidene fluoride, polyacrylonitrile and polyimide on non-woven to prepare an ultrafiltration membrane; and coating a titania sol whose concentration is 0.0001-1 mol% based on the polymer, on the ultrafiltration membrane. Preferably the polymer solution has a concentration of 10-25 wt%. Preferably the titania sol is prepared by adding 0.1-0.5 mol of HCl (37%) to 1 mol of a titania isopropoxide precursor to form a titania sol; and gelling the sol; and drying the obtained gel. Preferably the separation membrane has a fraction molecular weight of 400-500,000.
