<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a safe operation for cases, such as fragility and a rupture of the Zinn's zonule, which are treated as intractable cases among cataract operations and intraocular lens transplants. <P>SOLUTION: A lenticular capsule equator section holder that secures a lenticular capsule equator section with pads is used in a cataract operation or an intraocular lens transplant to hold a lenticular capsule equator section when a patient has fragility or a rupture of the Zinn's zonule. The device is a bar which has a whole length of ≥ 6 mm and a thickness of between 0.01 mm and 1.0 mm, whose end bends over sharply, whose length between the top of the bent point and the end of the bent section is ≥1.5 mm, and which has a linear pad with a width of ≥1 mm or a flat pad with a surface area of ≥1 mm<SP>2</SP>at the end of the bent section. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
