<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module with which a locked state can be easily released and a lock releasing operation and an operation for extracting the optical module from a cage can be performed with a simple operation. <P>SOLUTION: This optical module has a case 1 that contains an element for performing optical communication. The case 1 is provided with a lock part 3 which is locked to a locking hole 11a formed at a spring plate part 11 belonging to the cage 10 containing the case 1, and a lever 4 that bends the spring plate part 11 in the direction of releasing the locking hole 11a locked by the locking part 3. The lever 4 has a pivot part 4b supported by the case 1 in a freely turnable way, a knob part 4a provided at one side of the pivot part 4b and a projection part 4c provided at the side opposite the knob part 4a of the pivot part 4b, and is turned around the pivot part 4b when the knob part 4a is moved toward the case 1 side to make the projection part 4c press the spring plate part 11 so as to bend the spring plate part 11 in the above direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
