PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for enriching the dissolved oxygen concentration of a culture solution used in plant nutriculture solving the problem that, in the plant nutriculture, particularly hydroponics, oxygen feed to a culture solution is essential since a majority of oxygen necessary for a plant root is absorbed from the culture solution, therefore if the dissolved oxygen concentration of the culture solution is lowered, the root runs short of oxygen, leading to decline in the absorption of water and nutrients into the plant and the synthesis abnormalities of phytohormones, and the like, thus resulting in the occurrence of root rot and/or plant configuration abnormalities.
SOLUTION: The system works as follows: Fine bubbles with a size of about 300μm or smaller, preferably ≤100μm, especially preferably ≤50μm are generated by a pressure air feeder. The fine bubbles thus generated stay long in the culture solution because of their low buoyancy, therefore being readily merged or mixed into the culture solution to enrich the dissolved oxygen concentration thereof. Furthermore, the fine bubbles thus mixed into the culture solution tend to adhere to the plant root, replenishing appropriate amounts of nutrients including oxygen to the plant.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
