PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oligosaccharide which is an enzymolyzed product of fucoidan, useful for structural analysis of sulfated polysaccharide fucoidan contained in brown algae and detecting the biological activities thereof. SOLUTION: The sugar compounds are represented by formula (1) or their salts.
