PURPOSE: A radio control receiver of a street lamp capable of changing receiving frequency and the method controlling thereof are provided to automatically vary the receiving frequency, according to a control signal delivered from a transmitter of a remote place. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling a radio control receiver of a streelamp capable of changing receiving frequency comprises the steps of: demodulating a signal received through an antenna, and converting the signal into a digital signal; deciding whether a control command for changing the receiving frequency to the converted digital signal is included; deciding whether the control command is included in a receiver having a specific ID only or the control command is included in a whole receiver, when the control command is included; deciding whether the ID of the control command is the received ID, when the control command is included in the receiver having a specific ID only; varying oscillating frequency applied to a mixer, which converts a high frequency signal received through an antenna, if the ID of the control command is the received ID or if the control command is included in the whole receiver, changing the receiving frequency, and storing data of the changed receiving frequency in a memory.
