The hay is picked up from the ground and transferred by means of an endless screw (3), driven in rotation above a U-shaped gully (17). The screw is designed to ensure the even distribution of the hay into silage. Each end of the screw is fitted with the means (23, 31, 35), which are designed to lift and separate the screw from the bottom of the gully, by rotation around a shaft, parallel to the axis of the screw. |
