摘要 PURPOSE: A transflective liquid crystal display and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to improve the productivity and reduce cost by removing a mask for storage doping and a mask for opening transmissive holes, and secure storage capacitance by forming a transparent electrode on an interlayer insulating film. CONSTITUTION: A substrate(101) is defined into a reflective area and a transmissive area. An active layer(103) is formed at the reflective area. A gate insulating film(104) is formed on a front surface of the substrate including the active layer. Gate and storage electrodes(105a,105b) are formed on the gate insulating film at regular gaps. A source and drain impurity area(106) is formed at the active layer on both sides of the gate electrode. A first insulating film(107) is formed on the front surface of the substrate including the gate electrode. A transparent electrode(108) is formed at the transmissive area on the first insulating film. A second insulating film(109) is formed at the reflective area of the substrate, having first contact holes to expose the source and drain impurity area and a surface of the transparent electrode. Source and drain electrodes(111a,111b) are connected to the source and drain impurity area and the transparent electrode through the first contact holes. A third insulating film(112) is formed at the reflective area of the substrate, having second contact holes(113) to expose a surface of the drain electrode. A reflective electrode is connected to the drain electrode and the transparent electrode through the second contact holes.
