SEMICONDUCTOR OPTICAL AMPLIFIER MODULE FOR AMPLIFYING OPTICAL SIGNAL

PURPOSE: A semiconductor optical amplifier module for amplifying an optical signal is provided to detect an amplified gain of an amplified signal by detecting power of a reflecting optical signal or a non-coupling optical signal. CONSTITUTION: A semiconductor optical amplifier(210) includes a first stage for receiving and amplifying optical signals and a second stage for outputting the amplified optical signals. An input unit(240) includes a first isolator to transmit the inputted optical signals to the first stage of the semiconductor optical amplifier and transmit spontaneous emission light at an oblique angle to a path of the inputted optical signals. A first photo diode(260) is used for detecting the power of the spontaneous emission light through the first isolator. An output unit(250) converges the amplified optical signals to one end of an output fiber.
