The badge reader has an alphanumeric keyboard (2), a liquid crystal display screen (3), a disc reader (7), a thermal printer (5), a badge reader (6) and a mother board (8) carrying a backed up re-writable memory. The mother board operates with the reader to display information on the screen, and also records the information on the disc. The information can be altered using the keyboard.
