<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel supporting structure capable of securing sealing performance even when water, dust, etc. intrudes toward the inside of a hub bearing in the middle of travelling, eliminating a risk of stress corrosion crack of the hub bearing on which a pre-load is applied and reducing cost and improving designing freedom. <P>SOLUTION: A dust cover 34 is a disc type member made of metal an outside diameter of which is slightly smaller than an inside diameter of a knuckle 20 and provided with a fitting hole of roughly the same diameter as an outside diameter of a hub 6 at an axis position. This dust cover is arranged so as to make contact with an end surface of the vehicle inside of a bearing inner ring after externally fitting the bearing inner ring 24 in a fitting part 6a of the hub 6 in the same diameter to the end surface of the vehicle inside. Additionally, a calking part 36 to extend outward in the diametrical direction is formed on an end part on the vehicle inside of the fitting part 6a, the bearing inner ring and the dust cover are pressured to the vehicle outside by this calking part 36, and the dust cover is calked and fixed on an outer peripheral surface of the hub with the bearing inner ring 24. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
