<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular opening-closing driving device of an opening-closing body constituted, so as to perform cargo loading-unloading work, while preventing door closing by dead weight of the opening-closing body. <P>SOLUTION: This vehicular opening-closing driving device can hold a full opening position of a tail gate, only by thrust of a gas stay, by arranging a motor 11 with a speed reducer, a clutch 12, and the gas stay 4 between a car body 2 and the tail gate 1; and drives door opening up to an excessive extension limit position of the gas stay, by turning on the clutch, when the tail gate closes by dead weight, after turning off the clutch, by arranging a lock mechanism (a steel ball 26, and an annular groove 27) in the excessive extension limit position, by further extending the gas stay from a normal time stopping position for holding an opening state of the tail gate by the thrust. Thus, when opening position holding power of the tail gate is insufficient, a door opening state can be held by the lock mechanism.
