PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcasting receiver capable of surely video-recording a preprogrammed program for video-recording in a video recorder without needing a switch operation at the video recorder side. SOLUTION: A switch 21A for video and a switch 21B for a sound are provided between a video output circuit 7 and a sound output circuit 8, and an AV output terminal 9B. An HDD recorder 17 is connected to an outputting part of the AV output terminal 9B through a video/sound code. A CPU 13 performs control to turn on the switches 21A and 21B, supplies a video signal and a sound signal to the AV output terminal 9B at the time of performing the preprogrammed video recording, and performs control to turn off the switches 21A and 21B at the time of terminating the preprogrammed video recording. The HDD recorder 17 detects that a video/sound signal is inputted to its input terminal, automatically performs video recording, and automatically terminates the video recording because the video/sound signals are no more inputted to the input terminal at the time of terminating the preprogrammed video recording.
