PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling apparatus capable of flexibly coping with mass-produced or various kinds of fluid materials and cooling the fluid material in a short time. SOLUTION: The cooling apparatus 16 is provided with a throw-in member 22 thrown into the fluid material 12 held in a container 10, and the throw-in member 22 is formed of a plurality of columnar cooling rods 60. The inside of the cooling rod 60 is provided with cooling channels 60a, 60b, 60c and 60d to flow cold water. The throw-in member 22 can be inserted into or extracted from the container 10 through an upper opening 10a by a lifting device 28.
