PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration absorber which is installed in a beam-column frame so as to achieve a large damping force by efficiently using long bodies without defining too narrow gaps between the long bodies, does not require highly accurate production technique entailing high cost, and facilitates filling or arrangement of an elastic body or a viscoelastic body therein, and to provide a vibration control structure using the vibration absorber. SOLUTION: The vibration absorber 7 is formed of the eight long bodies 11 each being a rectangular plate; the nine long bodies 13 each being a rectangular plate, and interposed between the respective long bodies 11 at intervals 12 in a manner movable in their longitudinal direction X; a long hollow housing 15 with a rectangular cross section, having the long bodies 11 arranged therein 14; mounting means 18, 19 arranged at ends 16, 17 of the long bodies 11, 13, respectively, for mounting the long bodies to left and right columns 2, 3 and upper and lower horizontal members 4, 5; and the viscous body 20 arranged in 14 the housing 15.
