TESTING OF FABRICATED FLUOROPOLYMER ARTICLES FOR METAL CONTAMINATION

The present invention relates to the melt fabrication of fluoropolymer into articles that are useful in semi-conductor manufacture and in transporting liquids, without contaminating the semi-conductor or the liquid with metal contamination arising from metal melt-fabrication equipment. To achieve this result, the article has a smooth surface characterized by an RMS roughness of no greater than 0,20µ, so as not to retain metal contaminant.
