The invention relates to a handle fitting, in which a shell-part (10.1) is mounted in a section of a door outer skin (22), said part consisting of a handle shell (11) and a handle mounted thereon in a displaceable manner. The mounting process is carried out from the exterior of the door. A locking element (30.1), which can be transferred by an actuator (41) between two positions, i.e. an unlocking position (34.1) and a locking position, is situated on the interior (24) of the door. To provide a practical convenient handle fitting, the locking element (30.1) and its actuator (41) are configured directly or indirectly as a component of the handle shell (11). The shell-part (10.1), including the locking element (30.1) and its actuator (41), can thus be completely pre-assembled outside the door.
