DEVICE FOR EXTENDING LIFE SPAN OF BACKLIGHT LAMP AND SAVING POWER OF LCD

PURPOSE: A device for extending a life span of a backlight lamp and saving power of an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to realize life span extension and power saving of the backlight lamp, and enhance user convenience by automatically darkening a screen or turning off the backlight lamp when the user goes away from the LCD, and automatically brightening the screen if the user approaches to the LCD. CONSTITUTION: A data converter(10) converts an analog signal for playing an LCD screen into a digital signal. An LCD module(20) regenerates the digital signal. A human detecting sensor(30) detects an approach state between the LCD module and the user. A lamp controller(40) outputs a control signal for adjusting brightness of the LCD by falling down or turning off voltage applied to the backlight lamp(70) depending on the signal detected from the human sensor. A control mode memory(50) stores the final use mode. A lamp power supply(60) supplies or cuts off the voltage set to the backlight lamp by the control signal.
