PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the size of data to be transmitted when transmitting data with the format of the data converted according to a format or transmitting form designated by a user. SOLUTION: When the conversion destination format is PDF and the transmitting form is FTP, the format of an image is converted to PDF, and the size of the converted image data is determined (S405). When the transmitting form is E-mail, the format of the image is converted to PDF and further MIME ENCODE-converted, and the size of the converted image data is determined (S407). When the conversion destination format is TIFF-MMR, and the transmitting form is FTP, the format of the image is converted to TIFF-MMR, and the size of the converted image data is determined (S409). When the transmitting form is E-mail, the format of the image is converted to TIFF-MMR and further MIME ENCODE-converted, and the size of the converted image data is determined (S411).
