PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve shielding effect by filling up a clearance between a door frame portion such as an inner mullion or the like and a sliding door with a sealing material when shutting the sliding door, to achieve a smoother opening/closing operation of the sliding door and furthermore to prevent deterioration of the sealing material. SOLUTION: The sealing device for a sliding door is intended to seal the clearance made between the sliding 4 which slides from side to side facing to the inner mullion 5. On a lateral part of the mullion 5 by the running side of the sliding door, a flap 13 attached closable/releasable facing the sliding door 4, a spring 14 to bias the flap 13 toward the sliding door 4 and the sealing material 15 attached to the flap 13 adjacently to the lateral side of the sliding door 4 are provided. Furthermore, the sliding door 4 has a sealing-release bar 16 to push in the flap resisting the bias force of the spring when sliding the door to open or close. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
