PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a segment assembling apparatus which enables a segment to be easily and surely assembled, even if a cross section of a tunnel is narrow and even if the segment is large. SOLUTION: This segment assembling apparatus 10 for a shield machine for assembling the segment S to an inner surface of the tunnel having the cross section of the tunnel with different sizes from one another in a crossing direction. The apparatus 10 is equipped with an erector device 20 and a segment conveying device 30. The erector device 20 can be freely moved in the long-side direction, short-side direction and excavation direction of an internal space of the tunnel, while holding the segment S, the excavation direction serves as a first axis d1; a direction perpendicular to the first axis d1 serves as a second axis d2; and the erector device 20 can swing on each of the first and second axes d1 and d2. The segment conveying device 30 transports the segment S, carried into the tunnel, by placing the segment S thereon in such a manner that a surface constituting a peripheral wall of the tunnel is directed upward, and supplies the segment S to the erector device 20.
