ON-SITE ASSEMBLY OPTICAL CONNECTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily assemble an optical connector in a short time and to facilitate assembly on a job site. SOLUTION: The optical connector is provided with: a frame 5 in which an axially extending divided sleeve 10 is internally provided; a first holding member 6 in which a fiber hole 11 whose both ends are opened is formed in an axial direction and which is inserted into the divided sleeve 10 and abutted to an opposite ferrule 2; a second holding member 7 which is fitted to the rear end portion of the first holding member; a third holding member 8 which is fitted to the rear end portion of the second holding member; and a fourth holding member 9 in which a screw hole 25 to which the third holding member is inserted and which is screwed with the frame 5 is formed in a front end portion. The fourth holding member 9 is structured to bring a tapered hole of the third member 8 into a close contact with the tapered surface of the second holding member 7 by pressing the third holding member while applying an elastic force by screwing the screw hole into the frame 5 in the state of inserting the third holding member 8.
