PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal projector whose structure is simplified by reducing the number of components without using many air suction fans, whose cooling efficiency is improved, and also, which can be further miniaturized and whose noise can be further reduced. SOLUTION: To the liquid crystal projector, a prism 1 for combining R, G and B light beams and a projecting lens 2 for projecting the combined RGB light beam are mounted on a lens prism mount 3. A revolving current generated by the air suction fan 11 stored in a housing constituted of a lower fan housing 8 and an upper fan housing 9 is turned upward by wind direction guides 8R, 8G and 8B integrally formed with the lower fan housing 8, and then, distributed to members to be cooled (exit light polarizing plates 4G, 4G and 4B, transmission type liquid crystal panels 5R, 5G and 5B and incident light polarizing plates 6R, 6G and 6B) through air outlets 9R, 9G and 9B arranged in the upper fan housing so as to cool the members.
