PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toroidal-type continuously variable transmission, lengthening the life. SOLUTION: This toroidal-type continuously variable transmission includes: an input shaft 5 driven to rotate by a power source 4; first and second variators 1, 3 to which the power from the input shaft 5 is input; and an output shaft 43 for outputting the power from the first and second variators 1, 3. In the toroidal-type continuously variable transmission, the first and second variators 1, 3 include: input side disks 7, 13; output side disks 9, 15; and power rollers 11, 17 held between the input side disks 7, 13 and the output side disks 9, 15. At least one of the input side disks 7, 13, the output side disks 9, 15 and the power rollers 11, 17 is rotated reversely after the lapse of a fixed period of time of use.
