PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which can reduce loads on a flaw detecting process and a flaw removing process by reducing the flaws generated in a manufacturing process and which can inexpensively manufacture a ferritic stainless steel wire excellent in cold workability. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method for the ferritic stainless steel wire excellent in cold workability has the following characteristics. When peeling is executed after annealing the ferritic stainless steel wire, a processed layer of 0.01-0.3 mm is generated on the surface. The hardness on the outermost surface is made to be≥175 Hv. After that, pickling and coating are executed. Wire-drawing is executed at a total area reduction of 2-15 % after annealing. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
