PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheelchair that enables a care receiver to sit on or get off the wheelchair, without being lifted up by someone, by inserting a wheelchair seat between the care receiver and a bed, a chair, a western-style toilet, a seat in a car, or the like, and by pulling it out when the care receiver sits on or gets off the wheelchair. SOLUTION: When a direct current motor runs by turning a grip 5 which is a forward/reverse switch, belts on the top and bottom of the wheelchair seat work to have the care receiver sit on or get off the wheelchair by inserting or pulling out the wheelchair seat. To adjust the height of the wheelchair seat to those of the bed, the chair, and the seat in the car, the wheelchair seat is raised by a hydraulic cylinder run by stepping a pedal 9 functioning as a hydraulic pump and lowered by turning the grip 5 working with a hydraulic valve.
