The roller container (10) has a first lowermost base (20) which can be lowered relative to its fixings (24, 26) on the support devices (16, 18) so that it has on one side a sufficiently large distance (28) from the floor to allow easy mobility and on the other side it provides optimum use of the space (34) underneath the desk when the container is rolled away e.g. to take DIN files one above the other. The lowermost base can be trough-shaped and is fixed at its side edges to one or more support devices of the roller container.
