FRONT GLASS FOR CATHODE RAY TUBE AND CATHODE RAY TUBE USING THE SAME FOR EFFECTIVELY REDUCING THICKNESS AND WEIGHT OF THE CATHODE RAY TUBE

摘要

PURPOSE: A front glass for a cathode ray tube and a cathode ray tube using the face glass are provided to reduce the thickness and weight of the cathode ray tube by attaching a flat glass to a face portion of the front glass and to satisfy the quantity of X-ray emission and explosion-proof characteristic prescribed by IEC(International Electrotechnical Commission). CONSTITUTION: A front glass(20) of a cathode ray tube(10) includes a face portion(21) for displaying images, a skirt portion(23) extended from the edge of the face portion backward, and a blend round portion(24) connecting the face portion to the skirt portion. X-ray absorption coefficient of the front glass is 28 to 34. A flat glass(50) is attached to the front side of the face portion such that emission of X-ray is restrained. X-ray absorption coefficient of the flat glass is 20 to 34.
