SYSTEM AND A METHOD FOR MANAGING THE INFORMATION OF DEVICES WITHIN A HOME NETWORK, PARTICULARLY FOR ALLOWING A MANAGER SERVER TO EXTRACT AND PROVIDE VARIOUS KINDS OF INFORMATION OF DEVICES OF A HOME NETWORK ACCORDING TO A TASTE OF AN EXTERNAL SERVICE PROVIDER

PURPOSE: A system and method for managing information of a device in a home network are provided to reduce a load generated in extracting information of devices by extracting the information whenever requested by an external service provider. CONSTITUTION: A home network(100) connects a plurality of devices through one network and is connected with an external server through a gateway or a home server. A basic information collection module(110) collects basic information of the devices. An extended information collection module(120) collects extended information requested by a service provider server(300). A manager server(200) extracts and manages the basic information of the devices existing in the home network(100), generates the extended information collection module(120) to obtain extended information of the devices according to a request from the service provider server(300) and provides the extended information of the devices to the service provider server(300). The service provider server(300) is connected with the manager server(200) through a Web server client. The service provider server(300) checks the basic information of a specific device which has been transmitted by the manager server(200), and if there is no extended information of the device, the service provider server(300) sets extended information for the specific device and transmits it, thereby requesting the manager server(200) to provide the extended information on the specific device.
