PURPOSE: A device for opening and closing the door of a microwave oven is provided to easily attach a handle to the front portion of the microwave oven by compacting the structure of the handle. CONSTITUTION: A device for opening and closing the door of a microwave oven comprises a cover unit(200) installed on the door, a handle unit(100) attached onto the cover unit and consisting of a handle member(110) gripped by a user, a fixed cylinder(131) inserted to the handle member, a handle mount(133) closely adhered to the outer face of the handle member inserted with the fixed cylinder and a connecting bolt(135) for fixing the handle mount in the handle member, and a connecting unit(300) for attaching the handle unit to the cover unit. The connecting unit includes a nut member(310) connected with the connecting bolt protruded from the handle mount and an intervention member(330) for preventing the nut member from directly contacting the cover unit between the nut member and the cover unit.
